Solo Show “Troubled Colours” at The Artlands

“Troubled Colours” is a solo show by multi-media artist Zara Kand. Employing dark, surrealistic undertones, on display will be a collection of oil paintings, 3D elements, as well as a brand-new hand-painted animation on screen. The work of Kand is best described as moody and psychological, with the occasional hint of twisted humor. This particular collection of work focuses on the colors of our inner selves, and how they emerge in certain phrenetic scenarios, in which the shadow self may be forced to question its unruly behavior.

The opening event on July 6th will include a booklet giveaway, strange confections, and otherworldly music by Karie and Michel of Orchids of Jupiter at 9pm.

The exhibition will be on view through July 27th at Artlands Gallery in downtown Redlands.
