Zara paints that which she finds mysterious. She views art making as a means of processing the subconscious, and its end vision providing a way to better understand ourselves and the meaning behind our shared existence. In her work, this language often consists of symbolism, curious landscapes familiar yet distant, and figures that are often as confused as we are.
Zara Kand has lived and exhibited in many parts of the world. She currently lives in the Californian hi-desert where she spends most of her time painting, gallery directing, and encouraging people to read books.
